About Me
Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real - Thomas Merton
Growing up in Brownwood, a small town in Central Texas, instilled in me a deep appreciation for life's simpler pleasures. My summers were spent shearing sheep on a friend's farm and helping family on their properties, grounding me in a strong work ethic that has guided me throughout my life.
After high school, I worked at a home for abused and abandoned children, where my commitment to helping others truly began. This passion led me to serve in the United States Navy, where I received extensive training in engineering, electrical design, maintenance, and leadership. Serving aboard the USS Defender (MCM-2) as part of a small, close-knit team, I learned the multifaceted nature of shipboard life, from managing combustion engines to operating electric switchgear. I concluded my service as a recruiter in my hometown, enlisting 10 new sailors from my community, and was honorably discharged in 2004.
Transitioning to civilian life, I embarked on a rewarding career in the oilfield industry. I gained comprehensive experience in motor design, VFD programming, commissioning, field service, and management. Co-founding my own company allowed me to innovate and develop products, culminating in a successful acquisition just three years later. My journey continued with the parent company, where I led ambitious drilling automation projects, contributing significantly to a major acquisition by a drilling contractor.
My career has taken me to 19 different countries, where I have worked in sales, service, commissioning, and project management roles. These experiences have been invaluable, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally.
On a personal note, I am married to an incredible and supportive woman, and we have an elementary school-aged boy who brings immense joy to our lives. We also have two older children proudly serving in the US Army, stationed in Alaska and Fort Hood. We feel incredibly blessed and are grateful for all that we have.
