About Me
Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real - Thomas Merton
Coming from a small town in Central Texas, Brownwood, afforded me a the ability to appreciate the smaller things in life. Most of my summers were spent helping on a friends farm sheering sheep and helping family at their properties. Work ethic was taught to me from a young age and continued on to this day. I learned the value of a hard days work and what it truly meant to serve others. Once I graduated from High School I went to work at a home for abused and abandoned children. This is where my desire to help others took off.
I decided my next step in life was to serve our country in the United States Navy. I was able to receive very advanced training from basic engineering theory, electrical design and maintenance, Closed Circuit TV, PLC Programming, navigation systems, Communications systems and leadership. I was stationed on a Minesweeper in Ingleside, TX, USS Defender (MCM-2). Being part of a small team allowed me to learn a lot of different functions of shipboard life including Combustion engines, gear boxes, gas turbines, electric switchgear in addition to the job I was trained for. Once I completed my shipboard duty was able to go back to my hometown and be a recruiter for my final year and was able to Enlist 10 new sailors from my community. Was honorably discharged in 2004.
After I completed my service I was given the tremendous opportunity to begin my career in the oilfield. Given the opportunity to learn everything from motor design to qualification testing, VFD programming to Commissioning, Field Service and management. During this time I was able to start my own company with a partner and develop our own products and sell to customers as well as consult to customers to help develop their own. Our Company was acquired 3 years after being formed. Went on to continue developing and building with the parent company until I was given the opportunity to expand my drilling automation knowledge and embarked on one of the more ambitious projects of my career. The automation development we were able to complete was part of the reason the Company I worked for was acquired by a major drilling contractor.
My Career and life has allowed me to grow in so many different ways. I have been have been able to visit 19 different countries in capacities including Sales, Service, Commissioning and Project Management. I have been truly blessed to value the things many take for granted.
Personally I am Married to an incredible and supportive woman and we have an elementary school age boy that is an absolute joy. We also have two older children that followed in their fathers footsteps of serving in the US armed forces. They have been in the US Army for 2 and 3 years one serving in Germany and the other Fort Hood. We have been afforded a lot of blessings in life and are greatly appreciate everything that we have.
